COAGULANTS AND FLOCCULANTS
Coagulants are chemical substances that neutralize the electrical charge of suspended particles in water, while flocculants are substances used to cause the agglomeration of neutralized or coagulated particles for sedimentation and/or flotation. Coagulation and flocculation are essential processes for separating and removing suspended solids from water.
These processes improve water clarity and reduce turbidity. Coagulation and flocculation remove suspended solids that can take a long time to settle naturally in the water.
